What is HEIC?

HEIC is a common file extension for HEIF images used by Apple devices. Converting a copy to JPEG improves compatibility with browsers, websites, and applications that do not support HEIC, although no format is literally supported everywhere.

Will conversion lower the quality?

JPEG is a lossy format; the quality slider lets you control the trade-off. Default quality of 80–90% usually gives excellent results with smaller file sizes.

Is my photo uploaded to a server?

The converter reads and decodes the selected HEIC file in your browser using the heic2any JavaScript library rather than uploading it to a ShowPro image-conversion server. Normal website analytics and network requests remain separate from the local file transformation.
